With 21 districts drowned in water by now, Assam is suffering from another natural disaster which inflicted havoc on 4.6 lakh people of the state. Dhemaji remains the most affected district. Other districts like Tinsukiya, Majuli and Dibrugarh are also severely afflicted.
The Brahmaputra and its arteries are flowing beyond the normal danger level at 6 different locations and, the Dhansiri, Jia Bharali, Puthimari, Manas and Beki rivers at various locations according to the Central Water Commission.
Currently, teams of State Disaster Response Force and circle offices have launched rescue missions to salvage the marooned people.
