Soon after the attack at Pakistan Stock Exchange at Karachi, 2 Taj hotels got threat calls of a terror attack similar to 26/11. The call was traced back to Karachi, Pakistan from an LeT terrorist, said the Mumbai Police. Due to the persisting situation of COVID-19, though the hotels are not in operation, security has been considerably beefed up to counter any situation.
Back in the year 2008, a terror attack was carried out in Mumbai by 10 highly trained terrorists from Lashkar-e-Taiba who targetted Taj Mahal hotel at Colaba, Chattrapati Shivaji terminus and various other prominent locations. The attack was finally countered at the loss of our brave policemen and Commandos. The siege had continued for three days which left over 170 dead and 300 injured.
