Why we cry?
Humans are the only animals to cry tears.On an cry an average of 1.9 times a month.
Basically, tears comes out because of 3 reasons.
1) Basal -Tear ducts secret basal ducts, protein rich anti bacterial liquid that keep our eyes moist every time we blink.
2) Reflex: Tears that triggered by irritants such as smoke, dust or onions.
3) Emotional:Tears shed to a range of emotions because of the stress hormone.
Mainly when people talk about crying, they usually refer to emotional tears.
Tears show others that we’re vulnerable and vulnerability is critical to human connection. Being able to cry emotionally and bring able to respond to that, is a very important part of being human.
People who don’t cry is a question researchers are now turning to.
If tears are so important for human bonding, are people who never cry perhaps less socially connected? That’s what preliminary research is finding.
Virtually no evidence exists that crying comes with any positive effects on health. Yet, the myth persists that it’s an emotional and physical detox.
